Reproduction of wall painting in the Palace of the Facets of the Great Kremlin Palace in Moscow. Great Kiev Prince (1019) Yaroslav the Wise (approximately 978-1054), son of Vladimir I. Yaroslav the Wise banished Svyatopolk I, fought with his brother Mstislav and split the country with him (in 1026). In 1036 Yaroslav the Wise united the country again, enhanced its Southern and Western borders and established ties with European countries. During the reign of Yaroslav the Wise Russkaya Pravda, old Russian legislation, was introduced.
