Monument to President Andrew Jackson. Erected in Lafayette Square in front of the White House. It is the world's first equestrian statue placed on two points of support – the rear legs of the horse. It was inaugurated on January 8, 1853. The sculpture depicts General Jackson during the Battle of New Orleans.
