A flower is placed at the Polish Military Cemetery of the Memorial Complex Mednoye in Tver Region, Russia. The memorial was opened in the 1990s at the site where over 5,000 Soviet citizens were executed and buried by the NKVD secret Soviet police in 1937-38, as well as over 6,000 Polish officers, policemen, border guards and civil servants in April 1940, after being imprisoned in Ostashkov.
