Items of Guryev's set. Imperial Porcelain Plant. Porcelain, monochrome over-glazing cover, polychrome over-glazing painting, gilding, shining. Guryevsky set is a distinct example of Empire style in Russian porcelain. The set initially was called Set with Imaged of Russian Costumes or Russian. In 1824 the set was named Guryev's after head of Emperor's Office, Count D. Guryev, who managed the porcelain plant in the early 19th century. The set's decorative centre is desert vases on sculptural bases as gilded figures of Russian peasants and eagles based on models by famous Russian sculptor S. Pimenov (1784-1833). The set items are decorated with painted miniatures with scenes of Russian life, Russian people, view of St. Petersburg and Moscow.
