Russian actress Varvara Asenkova [1817-1841] stlarred in vaudevilles, comedies, melodramas and tragedies at the Imperial Alexander Theater in St. Petersburg. Was the first to star as Maria Antonovna in "Inspector-General" by Nikolai Gogol and as Sofia in "Woe From Wit" by Alexander Griboyedov. Reproduction from the 1974 book by Y.
