Prisoners of the Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria during the second world wartime. Mauthausen is one of the Nazis' most brutal camps where about 125,000 people were executed or tortured to death, including 32,000 Soviet citizens, with General Dmitry Karbyshev among them. It was on May 5, 1945 that the Soviet troops came to liberate the captives.
