The Komsomolskaya Station on the Circle Line of the Moscow Metro was opened in 1952. The hall is decorated with high marble columns crowned with carved marble caps. Mosaic panels and plaques depicting weapons of different eras are above the columns. The arch of the central hall is adorned with eight mosaic panels from smalt and precious stones. The panels were designed by Pavel Korin. Five of them depict Russian military leaders -- Alexander Nevsky, Dmitry Donskoi, Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky, Alexander Suvorov and Mikhail Kutuzov. Three panels are devoted to the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
