Su-24 Fencer memorial warplane parked on the territory of the Sukhoi design bureau in Moscow. The two-seat and all-weather Su-24 tactical bomber, which can operate round the clock, was developed in order to counter the USAF F-111 multi-role tactical fighter. The Su-24 program commenced in 1961; and the Soviet Air Force adopted the plane, which became an important stage in the development of the national aircraft industry, on February 4, 1975.
