Alexander I solemnly entering Moscow through the Triumphal Gate after winning the Patriotic War against Napoleon and after his foreign campaign. This “old” wooden gates was erected at the crossroads of Sadovaya and Tverskaya streets in 1814. In 1829-1834, the new Triumphal Gate, designed by Osip Bovet, was built at Tverskaya Zastava. In 1936, the gates were disassembled during work to widen the road. In 1966, a replica of the Triumphal Gate was erected on Kutuzovsky Prospekt.
